There
are no purpose built tourist traps and no
modern day dens of vice.
Instead you will find less than a hundred
inhabitants, many fishermen, living in an
unspoilt environment with wildlife in its
natural habitat.
The geography of the island makes it a rather
inaccessible place that is certainly not suitable
for mass tourism. Even today mules still carry
out the hard work of transportation along
mule tracks.
Hills and valleys, steps and more steps make
Alicudi an island to be conquered, suitable
for enthusiasts of nature, peace, simplicity
and the great outdoors.
Alicudi is for those who seriously want to
rid themselves of daily stress in order to
listen to their internal rhythms.
